High-End BB Cream Reviews

One of my most popular posts ever was on Drugstore BB Cream Reviews. And I would always get asked to review high-end ones, so I hope you enjoy, and maybe find a new favorite or two.

Urban Decay Naked Beauty Balm
  • A five-in-one beauty balm that minimizes the appearance of pores, lines, wrinkles, and redness instantly for skin that looks firmer in eight weeks.
  • Features SPF 20 sun protection
  • Comes in one universal shade
  • Best for oily skin, but I really liked it. I didn't notice anything especially minimized, but I would repurchase
  • $34 for 1.8 oz

Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 Illuminating BB Balm
  • SPF 30
  • Multipurpose beauty balm to produce a youthful-looking, radiant complexion
  • Comes in one universal shade (also comes in bronzing and original formulas)
  • Gives skin a lit-from-within glow
  • Paraben-free
  • Really love this (as well as the original formula), as it gives a glow without being glittery. I can see this working on all skin types, as long as you want a glow effect. Would repurchase
  • $38 1.3 oz

Boscia BB Cream Broad Spectrum
  • Oil-free botanical formula to promote skin elasticity and reduce the look of fine lines
  • SPF 27
  • Comes in one universal lustrous shade (and bronze)
  • Paraben-free
  • Mine was glittery and it was very obvious, as it was pointed out to me all day (even by strangers). I didn't like this at all.
  • $18 .75 oz

Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream
  • A five-in-one formula for achieving flawless skin on camera and beyond.
  • Oil-controlling formulation with emollients and optical pearl pigments to provide hydration and visibly reduce fine lines and wrinkles after only four weeks
  • SPF 35
  • Comes in 8 shades
  • I really loved this in the summer (when my skin isn't as dry) and would repurchase it, but oily skin will like this best. I love how it comes in more than 1 shade!
  • $39 1 oz

Too Faced Tinted Beauty Balm
  • A multi-benefit BB cream that tints, primes, nourishes, prevents, and protects skin in one easy step.
  • SPF 20
  • Comes in five shades
  • Oil-free hydration that primes the skin
  • This has a slight illumination factor to it, and is very lightweight. I feel like it's not worth the price, and so that's why I wouldn't repurchase. It does feel like nothing is on the skin.
  • $34 1.5 oz

Lioele Beyond the Solution BB Cream
  • This Korean BB cream features ingredients such as lictorice root and jojoba oils to keep skin moist and smooth.
  • Comes in one shade (great for pale/fair skin)
  • 30 spf
  • Lioele carries a variety of BB creams
  • Very thick but blends in easily. However, this product is best for very pale/light skin tones. I wouldn't repurchase it since it is so light, but would highly recommend it. Plus, how cute is the packaging?
  • $39 50ml (I've seen it for under $20)

Dr. Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm
  • A one-step balm that perfects the appearance of skin while protecting it from the sun and environmental factors.
  • Bio-Peptide Complex infused with white gold to provide antiaging properties and support natural collagen
  • SPF 45
  • Comes in one universal shade
  • Sulfates-free
  • Dr. Jart has several other BB creams, and most of these I like. Be warned that I've tried some that turned grey on me.
  • I really liked this and would repurchase. All skin types would like this.
  • $39 1.5 oz
Overall:
  • Minus the Lioele, all BB creams featured here were purchased at Sephora.
  • BB creams are great options for those that want to have fewer products and light coverage. BB creams can also be used as a primer (like the UD Naked one, for example) although I usually wear them as is.
  • I've found that high-end BB creams are better for those with oily skin, as most drugstore versions more closely resemble tinted moisturizers that work better for dry skin.
  • I've noticed that most high-end BB creams come in one shade, and that shade is for light-medium (I would definitely say more light to fair), so I strongly suggest trying samples before you purchase (or keep the receipt).
What's your favorite BB Cream?
