I'm taking my annual beach vacation (keep up with me here) and this week
I have some wonderful ladies visiting the blog.
You'll love their posts! See ya next week! Love, Elle
Hi Ladies! My name is Krystle and I write the travel blog, Pictures and Plane Tickets. My husband and I have a passion for travel and I’ll be the first one to admit that I’m a little bit of a daredevil. From swimming with Caribbean Reef sharks in the Bahamas, to cliff jumping at Lake Powell, to Skydiving in Kauai, I’m always trying to live life to the fullest. My parents may not be so fond of my adventure-loving-thrill-
I don’t know about you, but in my experience, when I’m on vacation in a beautiful tropical destination the last place that I want to be is in front of the bathroom mirror “getting ready” for the day. Of course I want to look presentable, put together, and my own kind of beautiful, but I don’t want to spend hours in front of the bathroom mirror knowing that I’m going to jump in the ocean five minutes after I hit the beach. Please tell me that I’m not the only one like this.
Because I’m in and out of the ocean all day, I've tried to find some go-to looks that are easy to create, even without a mirror. This is the point where I stop rambling and share a few of my favorite go-to hairstyles when I’m at the beach:
Fishtail Braid
I found this look a couple of years ago before our trip to the Southern Caribbean and I have been a fan ever since. Read how to create this look here or here.
Rope Braid
Braid Bun
I saw this idea on Glamour.com and while it’s a little too glamorous for the beach, the idea behind it would actually work great for a beach-do. Braid your hair into two braids and then create a bun. It seems as though the style would hold better in the water, and the best part, this look serves two purposes: it is great for the beach, and when you decide to put your hair down, you will have fabulous waves with little effort.
Okay, that’s a lot of braids. But let’s face it, braids are super easy to create and look good on everyone.
Beach Hair
Personally, my hair is awkward. Most of my hair has a natural wave to it, however, the top layer is stick straight. Luckily for me, when I'm on vacation in a high humidity location the curl in the stubborn top layer finally comes out and my hair can do it's own thing. Throwing on a cute hat or headband makes it look more pulled together.

Top Bun
Classic. Simple. Easy to create. These words call out to me and scream, "Beach Hair".
What are some of your favorite go-to beach hairstyles? I’d love to have some more ideas in my back pocket for my next bucket list adventure. Come visit me over at Pictures and Plane Tickets sometime. Thank you Ellesees for allowing me to guest post today.
