For a couple of years I've been making my own Mylar polishes, so I was so happy to see these. This is so much cheaper and easier! There are 10 shades, and I have 5 today to share with you:
5 of the 10 shades
- Directions: Apply a coat of the base color and once dry, apply the holographic glitter on top and allow to dry.
just look at the pretty colors, not the painting job ;)
orbit, moon dust, satellite, eclipse, galactic
- Base coat: For most of the shades, only one coat is needed. It dries fast.
in same order as first photo
- Holographic glitter coat: Again, depending on the shade, the glitter was easy to apply in one coat. It's easy to maneuver and place where you'd like on the nail. The pieces vary in size.
the blue glitter (galactic) is my fave
- Overall effect: I really love how these turned out! The nails aren't rough and don't snag on things like regular glitter can. These are very easy to use. And fast. I recommend them.
eclipse, satellite, moon dust, galactic, orbit
- Versatility: You can wear these in different ways--just a glitter accent nail, a glitter stripe down the middle of the nail, glitter on the tips, glitter on the moon of the nail, or all over (my preference). I did try the top coat over other polishes, and it worked fine, but I had to wait longer for the nail to dry. Also, I liked the color coordination better here.
- Removal: Just like removing regular polish, but it takes the same amount of work as removing dark polish!
- Colors: The base colors pictured look like eggplant, dark red, a black that might be a really dark green (third photo down), navy, and violet. They dry fast.
- Cons: These chip after two days, so a clear coat on top is a must. The price is around $7+ and that may be a negative for some. I got mine for 40% off, so watch for sales at drugstores or use coupons. If you don't like dark colors, or glitter, you won't like these. As mentioned previously, I had a hard time telling the colors of the base colors.
- You'll love these if: you love nail polishes and/or nail art, you aren't good with nail art and want something easy to use, you want two polishes for the price of (some brands) one, you like sparkly things, you want to change up your polish routine, you want something different, or you can't stand removing glitter polish.
